Article 12: 100 Healing Tips for Personal Transformation and Upliftment

butterfly-totem-temp-300Over the next 20 weeks I will be writing a series of articles entitled 100 Healing Tips for Personal Transformation and Upliftment that I intend to turn into an expanded book on the subject. Some of these tips are powerfully life enhancing and are truly meant to be practiced for soul growth. I call these areas of life mastery that we are here to recall. I’ll point these out along the way. Ideally these are the keys for living an enlightened, joyful life of abundance. The other tips will be what I call uplifting actions that will open the passage way for new beginnings. They are ways to “reach for relief” when times are tough as I learned from the teachings of Abraham–a wise group of non-physical Beings who speak through the conscious channel Ester Hicks. You can find out more about their teachings by visiting their website www.Abraham-Hicks.com. When we take action in a mindful way that attends to our truest needs, we always feel relieved. Actions that “reach for relief,” or thinking that lightens our spirits, all fall in the category of soul re-alignment.

It is my wish that you will attract to you the Healing Tips or inspired actions that will guide you in your journey of transformation. Keep in mind that these are tips that feel good to me and that I feel are life enhancing when taken in moderation. Your greatest resource is always inside of you, so always follow what feels good to you until a solution arises within you. Remember not to escape your problems through this feeling good, but use these tools to come back to a more relaxed, calm you so you can then focus your attention on the solution. All solutions lie within and you have the power to access them. I’ve grown to appreciate these healing methods as my ways of revealing that which is most beneficial for me to act upon, move toward or embrace in my journey. The bottom line is that life is a journey to be explored, so have fun exploring these tips and listen to your guidance in all that you embark upon and experience.

56. Working With Archetypes
Archetypes are “patterns of Being” that exist within the human consciousness and the collective unconscious. After reading Carolyn Myss’s work on archetypes in her book Sacred Contracts, I started to wonder about my own “patterns of Being” and what they could teach me. I really felt that if I could know myself better and know what these parts of myself wanted for me, that I could heal some of my core issues in life. In the book Sacred Contracts, Carolyn Myss shares what she learned from studying archetypal patterns with her clients. From reading her work I learned that we each have 12 archetypes that we are meant to work with in a lifetime that make up our archetypal wheel of consciousness. Four of these archetypes are rooted in the mass consciousness which means that everyone shares these in their wheel. They are The Saboteur, The Inner Child, The Victim and The Prostitute. The other 8 are chosen by the soul as aspects of the Self for us to learn and grow from as spiritual beings having a human experience.

Her work is rich in content and explores archetypes and the soul’s journey and growth in a unique way so it’s worth the read. Personally I found great results working with my Inner Child, Saboteur, Victim and Healer over the years. It’s good to realize that all of the archetypes are equals and it’s ideal to approach work with them from a space of neutrality. Think of it as a learning or exploring exercise that can lead to great awakening and integration of your soul. Each of your archetypes have their strengths and weaknesses or light and shadow aspects to them. When you become aware of these through psychic connection or meditation, you can actually begin to embody more of your ideal, authentic expression. Embracing your authentic expression, at least to me, is about functioning from a space of wholeness–like all the parts of you tuning in and playing in this beautiful symphony of life.

When you intend to authentically express in the world, everything unlike it will often show its face. Every scar you had, every belief system that’s weighing you down, every wound and unforgiven memory may come to the surface to be healed, expressed or transformed into a gift in your journey. Once you begin to see the gift in the shadow aspects of your archetypes, your able to move on with gratitude, grace and love for self in a whole new way. If you’re intrigued by this type of introspection, then check out my other blog articles on specific archetypes. Also read below as I explain how to work with your Inner Child.

57. Journal with your Inner Child
In my personal healing process it was important for me to really get to know myself and, as I said above, get to know these parts of myself more intimately. These are sacred parts of our human consciousness and they hold the keys to our healing and expansion in this Universe. Your Inner Child is a part of the collective unconscious as well. It’s the part of our self that is innocent, imaginative, free, wonders and wants to play. Life is meant to be play but as we go through life, we learn certain negative beliefs that our parents were taught and that society hold as true. These beliefs begin to squash our sense of wonder, our desire to imagine and to be free to play. In some cases, we even lose our sense of innocence through trauma or loss that occurs in our life, or again through the mirror of limiting, negative beliefs.

Whatever happened in the past is of course, inconsequential now so leave it there. Ideally we are meant to marry the Child and the Parent Aspects of our self so they operate as an autonomous being of delight. When we experience trauma in our lives, lies or deceit in our family, or anything that breaks the bond of sacred trust between the child and it’s caring world, then this Inner Child aspect can become lost, hidden or stuffed away in our psyche as a means of protecting oneself. This is when journaling with your Inner Child can really benefit you. Of course, trauma or struggles in your life are not a prerequisite to benefiting from this introspection with your Soul. I personally feel that it’s good to look inward when we are stuck in a cycle of struggle in our life. We all hold the keys to our own healing within us and when we take actions to access this wisdom it can be very empowering.

To start this process, simply pick a time when you can have total privacy. It’s important to give your Inner Child the fullest attention. Most times, this is precisely what the Inner Child was missing in his/her life–attention. Set a sacred space by calling in your Higher Self, God, the Angels of Healing or whatever you choose, but let your Inner Child know that this is a sacred time of love and compassion. Once you’ve done this, simply begin to breathe in and out of your nose in long breaths. Focus your attention on your heart and just breathe in and out for a few minutes. When you feel connected or calm, ask your Inner Child to come forward and share with you what she needs to feel whole, safe and well in this life. Then just wait silently while focusing on your heart for his/her reply. Write down what she/he says and acknowledge that she/he is heard. Let your Inner Child know that you will do your best to fulfill those needs. Ask your Inner Chilc if there is anything else he/she wants to share or just get off his/her chest. Let your Inner Child speak it without judgment. Then just rest with your Inner Child in the Light and breathe. No more, no less. Follow through on what this part of you needs. As you do this, your life will begin to change. Know too, that it may take more than one journaling experience to heal this part of you or to have your Inner Child integrate into the whole. Be okay with that. Let the beautiful flower of your Soul unfold. If you feel you need help with your Inner Child integration, I am happy to assist you or give you an alternative resource.

58. Practice Forgiveness
Forgiveness can be one of the greatest gifts that you give to yourself. Yes, it’s a wonderful gift to others but I personally feel, that true forgiveness of others comes from a deep forgiveness of oneself first. Forgiveness is the key to actualizing joy in any family, society, community or the world. Forgiveness is an act of release and acceptance of what was created by all involved. It’s an act of letting go of the resentment, punishment, intolerance, need for vengeance etc so real healing can occur. Let’s face it, we can’t be focused on the resentment and pain and find a solution at the same time. We, as Soul’s, are always holding a space of love and we always know the broader perspective of how to resolve any struggle or conflict. This doesn’t mean that you dismiss your emotions. They are meant to be felt. They can also be your greatest teachers if you look behind them. Our emotions are also ours to own. That means that we are responsible for the way we feel. Our reactions to others, when negative, always come from a space of self preservation and/or judgements. Holding onto our negative emotions does no one any good, least of all you. So express them, write them out, get them off your chest and then let them be.

It’s an incredible thing to forgive especially when it’s done with compassion and the clear knowing that the only way to move on is to let go of the past. True forgiveness comes from the heart. To me, it’s not about excusing what happened but taking full dominion over how you feel and taking responsibility for creating something different moving forward. It truly is an act of letting go so something more brilliant, aligned and purposeful can arise from it. If someone really hurt you, move past the anger, blame, feelings of revenge etc with reverence for these emotions and trust that the person who hurt you most likely has a “hurt being” inside of them. Forgive them and set yourself free. If you’re still having an issue letting go, try the Radical Forgiveness Process. You can find it through Google.

59. Write a Love Letter to Yourself
After doing some forgiveness work, writing a love letter to yourself can be very uplifting. We seldom take the time to truly love and admire ourselves. I believe that this can be a very healing process especially for people who felt unloved growing up or feel that way now. Write this letter as if you are writing it to the parts of yourself that feel unloved. You can also imagine that this is a love letter from your Soul. The truth is, that whatever you write, is from your Soul and it’s precisely what these parts of you needed. Even if you can’t find all the words, just write “I love you” over and over again. You can start by sharing all the things that you love about yourself or used to love about yourself. It doesn’t matter what you write as long as it feels good to you. This is always your indicator that Spirit is with you and guiding you. This is a simple exercise, but it can be a powerful one. You can even mail it to yourself. Yes, it may sound silly, but the day it comes back to you in the mail, may be the exact day that you need it the most.

60. Pamper Yourself
Pampering yourself doesn’t sound like it could help you to heal but it can actually have great effects on your well-being. Anytime we move into a space of well-being, healing happens a lot faster. Pampering yourself to me, is an act of self love and honors your needs to relax, take a breather and rest. We are meant to delight in our senses but often times our senses go into overload or they become dulled with depressive thinking, limited views or patterns of behavior that stress us out. Taking a breather by pampering yourself, tells all the parts of yourself that you care–that you’re worth having time for yourself and resting. Massages, yoga retreats, getting your nails and toes done, taking a bath or sauna, playing golf even, can be great ways to pamper yourself. Whatever floats your boat and feels good to you, do it as long as it honors your body, mind and spirit. Ideally, when you pamper yourself, you’re able to just let go, surrender and enter into a space of allowing. I’ll talk about the Art of Allowing later in this article series and how it is key to the manifestation of what we desire. Just know for now, that pampering yourself, when done in life enhancing ways, can be very helpful in releasing your stress and uplifting your spirits.
